About the role
The systems we build move parcels, track stock and handle money. That means correctness matters more than almost anything else — a consignment that loses its custody record or a COD amount that reconciles wrongly is a real problem for a real business.
You will design and build the models, APIs and background processing behind those systems.
What you will do
- Design data models for domains that are genuinely complex: multi-branch custody chains, cash reconciliation, inventory across locations
- Build REST and GraphQL APIs consumed by our web and mobile clients
- Write queries that stay fast as tables grow, and know how to find out why one is not
- Build integrations with courier APIs, payment gateways and client systems
- Handle background work: sync jobs, scheduled reconciliation, notification delivery
- Write tests for the things that would be expensive to get wrong
What we are looking for
- Python and Django in production
- Relational database design, and comfort with SQL beyond the ORM
- PostgreSQL specifically is a plus
- REST API design, and an understanding of why some designs age badly
- Git in a team
Nice to have
- GraphQL
- Celery or similar task queues
- Experience with financial or inventory data, where correctness is not negotiable
- Docker and deployment pipelines
